Milan Fashion Week: Lanvin Men Collection Fall 2009

| comments

Milan was once again the center of one of the most important fashion events in the world: Milan fashion week, from January the 17th till January the 20th, which this year was concentrated into just four days.

On the occasion of this edition of Milan fashion week, many giant fashion houses had the opportunity to show their men’s autumn-winter 2009/2010 collections.

Lanvin's fall collection spoke for itself - and it was stunning. "We wanted to deliver an optimistic message, give people something real and find the real solutions to their clothes, change things and propose newness," said Lucas Ossendrijver, Lanvin's men's wear designer. And how. The collection was awash with striking new silhouettes, including a voluminous pleated trouser worn with a soft jersey jacket, reflecting the personal style of Lanvin's creative director Alber Elbaz.

In the next few articles, I will shared some of my top picked men fashion designers collection, which presented the image of classic, elegant man, and business style.

Spring 2009 Men's Fashion: Gilded Age

| comments

Just because he's not wearing a suit doesn't mean he can't look good. Gilded Age makes high-quality, well-made and well-cut casual clothes that will have people taking him seriously, whether he's running errands or on Friday casual wear.

Find out more about Gilded Age's founder and creative director Stefan Miljanic new collection for Spring 2009 Men's Fashion. But what the designer did with this backstory was ultimately less interesting than what he did with the raw materials of his own trade. Focus on eco-conscious, he produces its clothing, from using organic denim with plant and vegetable dyes in its jeans to using recycled looms to weave its sweaters.

For instance, for instance. A hunting jacket in indigo chambray had been washed to bring out imperfections that added appealing texture. T-shirts were organically dyed in Japan, the intensity of the orange shade achieved by 12 days weathering on a rooftop, the indigo dipped 11 times to get its color right. The result will retail for $280.

Man Fashion: Michael Bastian's Spring 2009 Men's Collection

| comments

Once a year event, Spring 2009 Fashion Week just started few days ago. Michael Bastian has showed off his latest Spring 2009 Men's Collection. His first show provided an interesting opportunity to see the designer's own distillation of those multiple options.

Actually, it wasn't really a show, more a tight edit of 25 looks based around Bastian's latest American archetype. Focus on sporty short, bathing suits, and of course his signature freewheeling take on eveningwear, shawl-collared pink jacket, blue tux shirt, pale gray pinstriped pants.

| comments

If you follow all the fashion trade show closely, you shouldn't missed this year MAGIC International Fashion Trade Show, which held on 25 - 28 August 2008 in Las Vegas Convention Center.

MAGIC International Fashion Trade Show continues to re-invent itself, and this time during the Fall Show from August 25-27 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, it was all about hosting micro-shows within the show. From Eco-Collection to massive Sourcing, to Streetwear, S.L.A.T.E. (which stands for Select, Lifestyle, Apparel, Trend, Emergence) and different themes, décor, and brands rounded out each location.

Browsing the Hip-Hop clothing and street wear sections, well-known celebrities such as Paul Wall, Pusha T of rap duo The Clipse, T.I., Soulja Boy, Ben Baller, and LL Cool J were all in attendance to make sure people knew they were behind their brand. Even the elusive Rocawear Creative Director and right hand man of rap legend Jay-Z, Jameel Spencer, was seen outside the Artful Dodger clothing booth.
